Bible Study Verse: Luke 15:4-6
Suppose one of you has a hundred sheep and loses one of them. Doesn't he leave the ninety-nine in the open country and go after the lost sheep until he finds it? (5) And when he finds it, he joyfully puts it on his shoulders (6) and goes home. Then he calls his friends and neighbors together and says, 'Rejoice with me; I have found my lost sheep.' NIV.

Thoughts: I have an old owl hooter that I love to use when attempting to locate gobblers. It sounds very realistic. I have triggered many gobbles and called in many owls using my old, weathered owl call. It’s by far the best I’ve ever owned or heard. A few turkey seasons ago, I had made a very long trek chasing toms; when I got back to my vehicle and was putting my things away, I noticed my owl hooter was missing. I had left it somewhere in the woods. I immediately retraced my walk to every location I had sat down. I searched diligently and found it exactly where I had laid it on the ground at my furthest stop. I still have the caller to this day.

Action Point; Do you know someone that has wandered from the truth and has seemed to have lost their way? Or even worse, do you know someone that has never found the Lord? I know a few in each situation. The world is full of both. What are we to do? —Go after them! Look, hunt, search, fish for men. Share the good news: the gospel. The Lord saves or turns a person back to where they should be; you cannot do this task. But it is our place to share Jesus by words and deeds and to live so others see a reflection of Christ in our lives. If you know someone who has wandered from the truth, don’t write them off—go after them.

Sportsman’s Tip of the Day: Use lanyards. Attach them to duck calls, grunt calls, predator calls, and owl hooters too! Since the day I left my owl caller in the woods, I have attached a lanyard to it and laced it to my turkey vest. It’s difficult to leave it behind now. It would be good to use the same strategy; it also works for any hunting accessory, such as a GPS, compass, etc.
