Bible Study Verse: Matthew 5:16
“In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and
glorify your Father in heaven.” NIV
Thoughts: Last year I had a wonderful opportunity to watch as my 9-year-old grandson and 12-
year-old granddaughter harvested their very first deer. It was as exciting for me as it was for
them. After deboning the deer, we took them to be processed by a person who has known and
processed deer for many generations for us. He is an awesome God-loving man. He is also a
retired USMC Colonel. It’s always great talking with him as we discuss life and how God has
worked in his life. In his business he shows the love of Christ to others.
Action Point: When I talk with the Colonel, we discuss many different avenues of life. It is so
apparent to me how his love of Jesus is always present. He is a great example of how we, as
believers in Christ, should let our light shine before others. Let’s make it a point to be Christ-like
in our daily activities. You never know who is watching, hearing your words, or observing your
actions. Always be aware of your surroundings and put Jesus first in your life. He will walk with
you
Sportsman Tip of the Day: Wildlife Departments have designated Chronic Wasting
Disease, CWD Zones. Hunters who harvest mule deer, white-tailed deer, elk, or other
exotic CWD-susceptible species within the CWD Zones, are often required to bring their animals
to a check station within 48 hours of harvest. Check this in your own state before hunting.
