Bible Study Verse: Philippians 2:5-8 In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus: 6 Who, being in very nature[a] God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage; 7 rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature[b] of a servant, being made in human likeness. 8 And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death—even death on a cross! (NIV©)

Thoughts: I was in a deer camp a few years back and it was interesting to watch everybody pitch in to help with the camp chores. We had individuals that were good cooks, they took care of that duty. Me? I have the gift of washing dishes and gladly made sure we had clean pots and pans for every meal. Others made sure the paper plates, napkins, and paper cups were in the garbage where they belonged. It was rewarding to see how everybody happily served the needs of others in camp.

Action Point: I’ve been in Christian gatherings where everyone pitched in to make the event a good one, and, I have been in similar gatherings where people expected to be waited on by the few that were willing to do the work. It’s pretty easy to see which individuals take on the nature of a servant. So, which one am I? Which one are you? It’s a matter of following Jesus’ example for us throughout the Scriptures. Servant mindedness is one of the ways we demonstrate Jesus to an unsaved world!

Sportsmen’s Tip of the Day: Always pitch in and help in camp! When you see something that needs to be done, do it! It makes for a much more harmonious outcome! By the way, I stole that line from a western movie, but it is a true statement!
