Bible Study Verse: Genesis 1:25 NIV “God made the wild animals according to their kinds, the livestock according to their kinds, and all creatures that move along the ground according to their kinds. And God saw it was good.”

Thoughts: Recently, my wife, and I, and some friends had the opportunity to see hundreds of manatees in a spring area in central Florida. Manatees are very large mammals. They are not the most attractive thing, at all. They have zero predators. They are often called sea cows. Every year this interesting creature travels from the depths of the ocean to a place inland where they can find warmer water temperatures and food in order to survive. They need a water temperature of more than 68 degrees. They can live up to 50-60 years of age. One manatee in Africa has migrated over 2000 miles. I find that amazing!

Action Point: It’s interesting how God created these unique mammals with the ability to know when and where to travel to maintain their life. The migration and their unique ability to find sources of food and a correct water temperature is amazing. They don’t have a GPS to guide them. They just know. God created us differently. He gave us the Bible to use as our GPS, to guide us through the challenges of life. He gave us his son who died on the cross for our sins. Yes, all of our sins. We just need to repent and turn towards Him. He will lead us in his ways as laid out in scripture which is His spoken word. Try to make it a habit to read a chapter a day every morning before starting your day.

Sportsman’s Tip of the Day: There are many unique animals, birds, and plants that one can find when exploring new geographical areas in our country. It’s fun to do and you will learn some interesting facts about how God created different species of things and about the different tools he gave them in order to survive.
