Bible Study Verse: Matthew 5:16 “Let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” (NIV)
Thoughts: The amount of snow still in the Rockies this early summer definitely altered my plans for fishing in the rivers. Since most of the rivers were raging and muddy, my fishing partner and I decided to fish mountain lakes instead. We located several, including one that we thought hardly anyone ever fished. We were on the lake in float tubes as the morning light came up over the mountains above us, hopeful that we were going to slay the trout that morning. What we discovered though was that the lake was so high in the mountains that the amount of ice the lake had this past winter was over 6’. And to our dismay, many of the fish in the lake were winter-killed. As we floated the perimeter of the lake, we discovered several rotting fish up in the shallows.

The world we are currently living in seems to want to suffocate the voice of any Christian who might want to speak up, but it’s super important to stay focused on God during this time and allow his word and principles to breathe into our lives.
