Bible Study Verse: Galatians 5:1
"It was for freedom that Christ set us free. Therefore, stand firm and do not be subject again to a yoke of slavery."
Thoughts: My wife has often said, "You've created a monster!" when speaking to me about my son Kyron. He wants to be hunting 24/7. Now that spring turkey season is here, he is having a hard time understanding why he can't just go out in the woods behind our house and hunt while I am at work. In his mind, it is our property, and he should be free to hunt it by himself. He has come to understand the season laws, but is having a hard time accepting the youth hunter laws.
Action Point: Many have a misunderstanding of freedom. Many think that freedom is the right to do whatever you want whenever you want to do it. We can hear this mindset in our culture today in many of the "hot" topics, such as abortion, women's sports, education, etc. The reality is that freedom has boundaries. Being free as Americans does not make us boundaryless. We still have laws we must abide by, and our freedom does not apply on foreign soil. Even the bald eagle, which soars freely, has boundaries; it can't fly to the moon or dive to the depths of the ocean. Biblical freedom is freedom from sin, death, and the enslaving power of sin. Knowing Jesus Christ is to be free from sin and have the ability, through the power of the Holy Spirit, to do what is right and pleasing to God. Live free in Christ as His son or daughter and don't be enslaved again to sin.
Sportsman’s Tip of the Day: Take a young hunter to the woods this season, and be sure to teach and explain to them the hunting and fishing laws they need to know. Shed hunting is a good place to start. For a beginners guide to shed hunting start with the article below. https://www.fieldandstream.com/hunting/when-do-deer-shed-their-antlers/
