Bible Study Verse: Romans 10:13
For, "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved." NIV.
Acts 2:21 And everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. NIV.
Thoughts: It’s the time of the year in my neck of the woods to plan for the following fall hunting season. Hunting leases expire and are renewed yearly at this time of year. It opens the door for hunters to join leases and for hunting clubs to find new members. It also allows clubs to pick up more land to lease if any has become available. Hunters are making plans, and hunting clubs are making plans. I have to make decisions; I either have to pay and renew my membership in my current hunting lease or let it go and pay for a membership in another lease. If I don’t do anything, I will be left out and hard pressed to find good hunting grounds when the October archery season opens for deer hunting. I have to make plans.
Action Point: What are you planning to do when you reach the age of 100? How far away is that for you? The average life expectancy in the USA is around 77 ½ years. Let’s face it, many of us won't make it to 77, and very few will reach 100. Either way, if the Lord tarries, the death rate for all mankind is 100%. We all need to make plans—plans for eternity. Can you recall a specific time in your life when you, personally, one-on-one with Jesus, humbly admitted you’re a sinner and in need of Him and asked Him to come into your heart and save you? If you have, praise the Lord! If you haven’t, or can't recall the time when you personally invited Jesus into your heart, please settle it today. Secure your membership in God’s kingdom. The right decision is to accept Him. If you don’t do anything, you will be left out; that is the same as rejecting Him.
Sportsman’s Tip of the Day: Seasoned hunters know that preparations and plans are everything. Whether it’s an out-of-state hunt, a trip overnight to a deer camp, or just a hunt down the road from your home, checklists are vital. Make a list of the things you must have. Make checklists well ahead of time when you are not rushed. When you finish your checklist, take a photo of it with your cell phone for a backup. I can't tell you how many times I’ve misplaced a checklist.
